La capitale du Goëlo

Paimpol is a former departure port of goelette fishing for cod fishing in Iceland.

Today, oyster farming and tourism are the two main activities of the city.

The harbor has become a beautiful marina with restaurants and lively bars where you will enjoy sunny terraces.

It is certainly Tuesday morning that the city is the most pleasant to discover … when the market gives back to Paimpol its animation of yesteryear.

Stroll Place Martray then walk the Latin Quarter. At the bend of an alley or a small square, shipowners’ houses and elegant half-timbered houses from the 15th and 16th centuries testify to the past prosperity of the city.

While in Paimpol, do not miss to visit the Abbey of Beauport, witness of the religious architecture of Brittany.

Discover its green cloister where hydrangeas and ancient roses bloom, admire its rooms with elegant vaults of ogives and contemplate the breathtaking view of the sea and the distant islands.
